Also please no large bills. We have limited change at the beginning of the week. Shopping will be open daily at the 10am recess and after school from 3 to 4pm.

Hello Families,
Here's the update for the week of September 16.
This week is the Scholastic Book Fair. Fliers went home last week with information on how to set up an E-wallet for your child so they don't have to bring money to school.
On Tuesday, artists from the Charles Schulz Museum come up to work with Ms. Sacha, Ms. Hook, and Ms. Cantin's students.
Back to School Night is on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Events include a middle school fundraiser dinner, the scholastic book fair, a Soul Shoppe Welcome, and classroom presentations.
On Thursday, Joseph from Soul Shoppe will work with students.
A few families still need to turn in the beginning of the year paperwork, which includes important student information. Please turn them in by Friday, September 20.
Thank you, and have a great week!

Our book fair has arrived and will be open all next week. We sent home fliers about it to everyone and there is a link on our website that will go live tomorrow so that you can set up a eWallet for your child. This ensure money is not lost by students. Family from all over can add to this eWallet it well.

This week, I observed Ms. Sacha’s class learning about ten frames, how to color within the lines, and how to cut and paste numbers in the correct order. Ms. Hook's class focused on tracing letters and numbers, CVC words (pig, bug, bat), and working on place values with ten frames. Mr. Armstrong’s class finished NWEA testing, learned new math vocabulary, and learned about adding and subtracting within 1,000. Ms. Cantin’s class focused on spelling, vocabulary, and prime factorization. I observed Ms. Ruegg's class learn about solving equations with irrational numbers, absolute values, taking a vocabulary test, and diving into their ELA curriculum by talking/reading about Greek/Roman history. All students practiced bus safety and participated in their first earthquake drill of the year. It was a wonderful week full of smiles and lots of learning!

Here's the weekly update: There will be no school tomorrow, Monday, September 2, in observance of Labor Day. This Thursday is the middle school parent meeting at 4:00 pm in the Hickory Room. Construction continues on Highway 1, so please be mindful & leave enough time to arrive at Horicon. Have a great week!
