Hello Horicon Families, Here's the update for the week of February 3: * We are pleased to announce the Grand Opening of our newly renovated gymnasium! This Friday, February 7, at 6:30, we will host a family movie night by watching The Wild Robot. Admission is free, and snacks and drinks will be for sale. All students must be accompanied by an adult the entire time. * Once the gymnasium is open, we ask that all students and staff wear only non-marking sneakers and no street shoes. This is required to keep the new floors in good condition. We thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the floor stays undamaged. Have a great week, Horicon Hornets!

Hello Horicon Families, Here's the update for the week of January 27th: * We're excited to announce that on Friday, February 7 at 6:30 pm, we will be hosting a family movie night to celebrate the grand opening of the new gym. Admission is free, and food and drinks will be for sale. Students may bring blankets and pillows for comfort. We will be showing the movie 'The Wild Robot.' All students must be accompanied by an adult the entire time. * There is an illness going around. If your child is not feeling well, please keep them at home. * Please remind your children of two essential school rules: keep hands, feet, and other objects to yourself, and do not bring toys from home. Hello Families, I’m always exploring ways to better support our students, and I’m thrilled to share a fantastic opportunity! I recently met with a company called Appa, and I believe their program could make a real difference for our kids. Appa is a Mentorship Program featuring Certified Wellness Coaches who help students build essential life skills, boost motivation, and develop confidence. Although the program is specifically designed for 7th and 8th graders, after speaking with the founder, we’ve also opened the door for younger students to participate! This is an incredible opportunity for your child to receive personalized support from trained professionals who are dedicated to helping them succeed in and out of school. If you’re interested in signing your students up, please email me at clinker@horiconsd.org, and I’ll add them to the list. We are offering this 12-week program free of charge (the program may be extended if you'd like). Let’s work together to give our students the tools they need to thrive! We celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day to honor his leadership in the fight for civil rights, his dedication to justice and equality, and his vision of a world where people are judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. * The bus is back up and running.
